Moments in Time with Jane Adams

Having a ‘moment’ on Studland Beach near my home in Dorset

Hey, there

Welcome to Moments in Time. I’m Jane, a writer, author of Nature’s Moments, full-time caregiver for my husband, naturalist (especially fond of bees, beetles and badgers - thanks for asking), photographer of said wild stuff, and optimistic, very nearly 60, midlifer.

Why Moments in Time?

This a place where we can dive into the extraordinary, celebrate the mundane, and tackle the occasionally terrifying moments of everyday life.

A place to laugh, cry, scream into pillows – but where there’s always a story (and maybe a photo or two).

I hope we can explore life’s wonderful and downright strange moments together. Trust me, it’s more fun with company.

What you can expect if you subscribe?

All of my posts are currently free to read (yes, I know there’s only one at the moment, but there will be more, I promise, so please subscribe).

If you subscribe you’ll receive a newsletter - sometimes big, sometimes small - once a week, probably on a Saturday or Sunday. Expect essays of moments, photos of wildlife, and things that seem vitally important in the middle of the night, but usually aren’t in the morning.

Writing takes a lot: time, energy, skill, and plenty of pondering and procrastination (plus a stash of rich tea biscuits). If you fancy helping to keep this publication (and me) going, why not consider a monthly subscription? It starts at just £3.50 a month, the price of a posh coffee, or £40 for a whole year.

About me

I've had the pleasure of writing for BBC Wildlife, BBC Countryfile, The Telegraph, and Bird Watching Magazine. If you live in Dorset, you might have read my stuff in BV, Dorset Wildlife and Dorset magazine. When I'm not scribbling, I share my love for nature and travel writing as an associate lecturer at Bath Spa University. Oh, and there's that book I wrote, "Nature’s Wonders: Moments that Mark the Seasons," for HarperCollins/National Trust Books, and another on the way.

You can also find me on Instagram (sometimes) at janevadams, Twitter/X (less often) at wildlifestuff or at my website janevadams.com.
