Every day, I walk round my garden and bump into amazing creatures.
There was a time when I didn’t realise they were there. When all I saw were grass and flowerbeds (and a shed tucked into the hedge). But once noticed, you can’t un-notice them.
Now, I look forward to seeing them each year. Some, like the solitary bees, only live for a few fleeting weeks, others might (if they’re lucky) last a year.
When I can’t wander far from home, photographing them is a lifesaver. Moments in time, when I can escape to a different world, can make the difference between an awful and a good day.
Do you have something you do that makes you feel the same way?

Crab spiders seem to perch themselves so fetchingly on pink roses, but I do feel for the poor bees that fall into their arms!
